“This intuition, that he personally tried to live, has an explosive force, above all in the true historical moment of a family crisis”.- mons. Giuseppe Zenti, bishop of Verona.
The process for the Beatification and Canonization of Alessandro Nottegar began in 2007 and is still in progress in Rome. On May 4th 2017, Pope Francis recognized that Alessandro lived Christian virtues to a heroic level and attributed to him the title of “Venerable”.
In Italy and worldwide many people turn confidently to Alessandro to obtain God’s grace. If you too want him to intercede on your behalf, you can download the holy picture which features a prayer to the Venerable. Should you receive, through his intercession, the grace that you prayed for, please write and let us know. It is important for his beatification process.
Alessandro’s remains are found in Verona, in the chapel of the headquarters of the Regina Pacis Community. It is possible to organize visits to the tomb by writing to this address.
In August 1986, Alessandro and Luisa Nottegar created the Regina Pacis Community: a community based on prayer, evangelization and service to the poor. Regina Pacis has been recognized by the Bishop of Verona and currently is present in Italy, Brazil and Medjugorje.
The Regina Pacis Community consists of families, lay people, nuns, priests and friars who, in respect of the vocations, want to dedicate their life to the Lord. They share prayer, jobs, service to the poor and evangelization.
Trying to follow the example of the founder Alessandro, Regina Pacis has been present in Brazil since 1990, in three different cities, where it works serving the poor. There are more than 700 children from favelas who are welcomed every day, free of charge, in their schools.
